Silence
R E S T | Silence. There’s a lot to be found there but not many places we can find it. Cities and cellphones keep us on at a near constant, high level of alert, and their sounds are encroaching even the most remote of regions of wilderness, where so many of us go seeking it, and leave us feeling all the more frazzled and discouraged. It is projected that the world will only become noisier as we become more urbanized and even more digitally connected. However, we all need silence to rejuvenate of our cells, refresh our minds and to come into contact with our deepest wisdom.

Here are some ways to find silence:
Schedule time away from all screens
Turn off all electronics
Keep all electronics out of your bedroom
Take time away from city life to go into the forest
Create a “silence zone” in your home to retreat to as often as you can
Use the darkness of night and early morning as a guide for silent time
Use earplugs when you cannot find the silence you seek
