Jumping In
M O V E M E N T | In water.
As a child I’d jump into nearly any body of water and stay in it until I was throughly water logged and ready for sleep. As I’ve gotten older though, water has appealed less and less to me. It’s too fussy. There’s all the stuff to bring: towel, water, sunscreen, bathing suit, change of clothes, a bag to put all that stuff in. Then, there’s the stuff that happens when you in the water like being wet (sometimes I can’t stand being wet), hanging out with other people, thinking about their bodily fluids... and of course, the consequences of swimming like drying off, showering, being tired and redressing myself when I’m tired. See? Fussy.

Yesterday though, an opportunity presented itself to me— an empty pool. I jumped in! I swam in the water like a jubilant porpoise.🐬 🐬 Zipping through the water, jumping up and down, going this way and that, swimming forwards and backwards, every which way my body desired. It was exhilarating and tiring! Being in water can do that. It can put you at ease and work you out without you even knowing it. And, it’s just plain fun!
