Seasonal Eating: Summer

N O U R I S H M E N T | Seasonal eating. Food at it’s peak freshness, nutrient-density and flavor. In other words, food that will give you all it’s got, synchronizing your whole mind/body to the season.

During the summer months, there is an abundance of raw fruits and vegetables that really hit the spot, cooling you from the inside out. Cucumbers, watermelons have cooling effects, although so do sweet and even spicy peppers. Lately, I’ve been digging avocados, tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots. 🥑🍅🥕See my Story for snapshots of what I made this morning and of The Local Foods Wheel (it’s for San Francisco/Bay Area, but there’s a lot of overlap in other areas around the country) to help guide you in eating with the season. 😋

Eat in season with the earth, dear, feel her vitality inside you!
